Today was all about driving. I decided to take an extra day and go back to Gettysburg, so I wanted to get a little past Pittsburgh to have a short drive on Saturday.

Since I had gotten gas last night before I pulled in and I didn’t unhitch, I was able to get on the road quickly. But I had slept until 9:30 due to the time change. :(

This section of road is not remarkable except for the amount of road construction. I felt like most of Indiana and Ohio tollways was being repaired. Indiana is a star that lags behind with technology. All other states have done away with the gate at the tollbooth. I had some stress because the gate wouldn’t open and there is no way in hell I’m backing up. So I took a ticket and was prepared to pay when I got off but I found if I sat there long enough eventually my Ez-pass would be read and the gate would open.

Thankfully, Ohio has totally streamlined their system. All tolls can be taken at full speed. However, the first time I tried to get gas at a rest area I was not able to pull over to the non-diesel pumps. Then I realized the tuck lanes had gas AND diesel. Duh. I had enough gas to continue to the next reat area because again there was no backing up.

I pull off at the next one and whip out my credit card. I’ve got this now! And card declined. Huh? Sometimes US Bank is a little Overzealous when I’m traveling, so I try my American Express. Nope. My Mastercard that I only use at TJMaxx. Nope. No attendant in the booth. I walk over to the car area and the girl there told me the credit readers are down in the truck area and I can pull my trailer in with the cars. But she said I didn’t tell you that. Yep.

I arrived at the KOA Madison/Pittsburgh as dusk is approaching. And unfortunately there is no gas station at the exit, so I’ll have to refuel in the am. Again, I don’t unhitch and it’s the last of the deep dish pizza for dinner. I read a little of my book and its lights out
