While watching a match making show, two of the participants were joking about not knowing geography of middle America (as if that's funny!!!). "It's just flyover country." "Nothing happens there." I beg to differ!

I started taking road trips during Covid--several to see friends in my native Delaware and one to Oregon. This year I'm doing what I'm calling my "Southern States --Civil War, Civil Rights tour," I'll be blogging about what I experience as I leave rural Minnesota to head as far as Biloxi, MS. My first official stop will be starting in Tulsa at the Black Wall Street memorial before heading to Arkansas and Mississippi with my last "tour" stop in St. Louis, home of the Dred Scott decision. In between there will be civil war battlefields, state parks, Emmett Till centers, Little Rock High school, Jefferson Davis Presidential library, and more. Deviating form the script, I'll throw in a few Frank Lloyd Wright homes too and some tidbits from my roadside geology books.

I'll be accompanied by my faithful friend Buddha, and we are planning some economy hotels, camping, AirBnBs, and what looks like a really nice B&B in Natchez. I hope you enjoy the tour as much as we will.
