In Greek the word for Saturday is similar to the sabbath. And indeed, many spend the day with family more so than on Sunday. For me, I designated it a day of rest from my busy week and I stayed put for the day.
I did my “village loop” walk after lunch and I stopped by at the mini market on my way back. It is the only place open in the village this time of year. The taverna and coffee cafe are closed. I got a few things to add to my stay at home dinner.
My interaction with the shop keeper went much better this time as I tried out some more of my Greek on her. I’m getting braver. :).
So, I do have a confession to make. I met someone my first day here. Actually there were four of them, but I only locked eyes with one. Wow—that one is a boss. Hugo Boss. Later that night Hugo was at the door, so I let him in. He got on the couch with me and rolled onto his back to reveal eight nipples.
Ok, so Hugo needs a new name. My daughter Amy suggested Miranda since that character in the The Devil Wears Prada is a boss. So, Miranda it is. But we are just sleeping together. A note in the cottage asks not to feed the cats.
Sunday, I’m planning to do another hike on the south side but not sure where just yet.
